The farm was purchased by the current owners Neil and Lisa Murray about 13 years ago. The historic buildings - Victorian Manor House, the Barn and Koppie Cottage have been lovingly restored. Originally a wine farm, the farm now grows olives and artichokes along with a few fig, pomegranates, quince and almond trees.

Staying with us will entitle you to enjoy the wonderful walks through our olive groves and across the river (flowing seasonally) and old railway track to the Karoo veld and Koppie to enjoy the variety of flora and incredible views of the Swartberg and the awe inspiring Towerkop

The Stoep has a Splash pool and there is a swimming pool behind the house.

Opportunities to relax, cook, take long walks, cycle or delve into your creative side in the adjacent art studio (by arrangement).

It is a unique, magical place.

ACTIVITIES

Guests can walk anywhere on the 136 hectare farm, through the Olive trees and Artichoke plants, the extensive fauna and flora and incredibly special Klein Karoo veld. The surrounding gravel roads are perfect for mountain biking or taking a leisurely drive through the scenic surrounding areas.

The adjacent Buffelsdrift conservancy is home to Zebra and rooi hartebeest
sometimes encountered over the fence when enjoying walks on our farm.

The area is scattered with ancient ‘stone walls’ presumably built
by the Khoi, and pre-dating colonial settlement.

A tranquil environment, rejuvenating and relaxing.

OUR MERMAID

Ancient Khoi-San rock paintings in the Klein Karoo appear to depict mermaids !

Legends of the Karoo mermaids have possibly been around for centuries. Locals have grown up hearing stories of these fish tailed maidens who inhabits places where there is deep water and are responsible for rain, floods and droughts.

The Mermaid images are often shown to be holding something as does our Mermaid who you will find on the edge of our splash pool at The Manor House.
