From Ladismth
Take the R62 towards Barrydale and Montague for about 14 kms turn right towards Laingsburg. Follow the Laingsburg road for 7kms having crossed the Klein Swart river and turn Left onto a gravel road, and after 100 m take left fork 900m see Uitspan “Victorian” house on your right.
From Barrydale / Capetown
Follow the R62 towards Ladismith, about 20kms before Ladismith see Laingsburg road to your left – turn left. Follow instructions above.
From Riversdale / N2
Turn off N2 into town of Riversdale and follow road to Garcia pass. Follow road over pass to R62 and Ladismith. At T-Junction with R62 turn right. At Laingsburg road, turn left, follow instructions above
Scenic Route (4×4 Recommended)
If you are coming via the scenic route i.e. the N1 via Worchester and Robertson and Montague, Barrydale head towards Ladismith. About 14km before Ladismith is the road to Laingsburg – turn left.
Follow road for about 7kms you will cross over Klein Swart River, just after river is a road to your left (gravel) to Buffelsdrift – turn left. Keep left (as road forks), follow road around bend past farm houses (you are in the hamlet of Buffelsdrift) last house on your right Victorian is UITSPAN! You will pass a gravel road to Buffelsdrift about 20kms before Ladismith – you can take this road if you are in a 4×4 – very scenic about 10kms.
Follow road until you see Uitspan on your left
